MBAs and Other Programs Offered Through the Cal State Fullerton College of Business and Economics
The College of Business and Economics at Cal State Fullerton plays host to two, distinct MBA programs tailored to the needs of students and professionals at different stages.
Flexible MBA
The Flex MBA is a traditional – though non-conventional – business administration program that can be completed in a part- or full-time format. The curriculum features a customizable design that allows students to choose from 11 concentration options. Students of this program take one to four courses per semester, with each course offered one night per week at the Fullerton campus.
Fully Employed MBA (FEMBA)
The Fully Employed MBA (FEMBA), designed for working professionals with at least three years of experience, is delivered as a cohort-based course of study. The program is built around convenient eight-week courses, with a 36-month completion time. Students of this program take one evening course per week at the Irvine campus. The FEMBA features a general management focus. A real-world consultation project rounds out this program.

MBA Admissions Requirements
Both the Flex MBA and the FEMBA are open to all bachelor’s degree holders, regardless of undergraduate major, with a minumum 2.5 GPA (emphasis is placed on the last two years of study). Other requirements include:
GMAT/GRE scores
GMAT and/or GRE scores are required for admission, with a minimum score of 550 for the GMAT and 310 for the GRE.
However, applicants with a minimum 3.0 GPA may qualify for a GMAT/GRE waiver if they can demonstrate quantitative skills through their academic history or professional experience. Waivers are granted if:
- You’ve completed undergraduate or graduate coursework in calculus, statistics, or other quantitative subjects.
- Your professional experience includes roles such as data analysis, financial modeling, project management, operations management, or other responsibilities that demonstrate strong quantitative skills.
English Proficiency (international students only)
If your education was not earned in a “majority English-language country,” you must provide proof of English proficiency by submitting an English proficiency exam:
- TOEFL: Minimum 88
- IELTS: Minimum 7
- PTE: Minimum 65
- Duolingo: Minimum 120

Applicants for the FEMBA must have at least three years of professional experience.
