The Cal Poly Pomona College of Business Administration delivers a true polytechnic experience, with its undergraduate and graduate business programs designed to produce highly capable and ethical business leaders through discovery, innovation, and outstanding real-world experiences.
The College of Business Administration is home to the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, which offers six degree options, including a highly respected MBA that attracts rising and established executives, trailblazers, and thought leaders who appreciate the value of authentic learning experiences.

This 34-36-credit program can be completed in as little as two years. The MBA’s 12 courses include eight core business courses coupled with three electives. A comprehensive exam or business research project rounds out the MBA program. Full- and part-time tracks are available.

MBA Program Customization
The MBA is customizable, either by choosing a specialty in Business Sustainability, Leading Organizational Transformation, or Strategic Marketing, or by creating your own specialization through electives.
Students creating their own specialization must choose at least three electives. The College of Business Administration offers more than a dozen contemporary elective courses, including Creativity and Entrepreneurship, International Business, Motivation and Marketing Behavior, Export-Import Management, Sales Productivity, and Security Analysis and Portfolio Management.
MBA Admissions Requirements
Cal State Poly Pomona’s MBA is open to all bachelor’s degree holders, regardless of major, with a GPA of at least 2.5. Though not required, a 3.0 GPA is preferred, and at least two years of work experience is recommended for admission.
GMAT/GRE scores are NOT required but optional.
Your admissions application should include:
Resume
Your resume should detail at least two years of work experience (recommended).
Personal Statement
Your personal statement should include: (1) information about yourself, (2) why you’ve chosen Cal State Poly Pomona for your MBA, (3) your goals, (4) and a closing statement. It should be one page in length.
Letter of Recommendation
You must include at least one letter of recommendation from a professional who is familiar with your work performance or an academic professor who is familiar with your academic success.
Undergraduate Transcripts
The institution where you earned your degree must send your official transcripts to the university. You must also upload your transcripts to the Cal State Apply website.
Writing Prompt
You must submit a 250-300-word writing prompt that answers the following: “Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did you react to it? How did it affect you? And finally, reflect on the key takeaways from the experience.”
English Proficiency Test (international students only)
Scores from an English proficiency exam must be submitted if your prior degrees were earned in a language other than English. The following exams are accepted:
- TOEFL: 213 computer-based, 550 paper-based, 80 Internet-based
- IELTS: 6.5

MBA Program Highlights
Course Delivery | Delivered through a combination of on-campus evening and weekend courses, and hybrid courses. All courses are offered one night per week, Monday through Thursday, from 7PM-9:45PM, with some Saturday morning/afternoon courses available.
